The Great Escape
Remember The Shining? How Jack Nicholson’s character goes completely nuts after being cooped up in a large hotel for the winter? Remember what happened to Scatman Crothers?
Well, while Kristen is not going to be going after Henry and I with an axe any time soon, she is pretty stir crazy. And I can’t blame her.
While I’m out of the house at least twice a day — going to the store, the post office, taking out the garbage, whatever — there are long stretches where Kristen hasn’t breathed real air. We’ve tried to take a walk every day, but sometimes for whatever reason, it doesn’t fit in.
Of course, as Henry gets older and gets a little better with his routine, she’ll be able to escape from the condo more often. But for now, doctor’s appointments are not a chore but instead something to look forward to.
So what I’m saying is, when you (and you know who you are) come to visit, don’t expect much sitting around to happen. There will be excursions (even if they’re just around the block).
Today, we were able to take a nice walk, and with the temperature not even hitting 70 in Chicago, the heir was able to wear some of his footie outfits. I see a future on the runway, I really do.

Stir craziness is not fun. Don’t you worry though, once you return to work I will be scheduling outings with Kristen so that she doesn’t spend hours typing “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”
