Dear Boy

I don’t know when exactly I stopped looking in the mirror. Probably some time around the onset of puberty, but since then I’ve avoided them like a vampire.

Henry, however, has no such revulsion, and in fact, loves to look at himself in the large mirror we’ve set up next to his changing table. They say that babies his age don’t know that the person peering back at them is actually them, but Henry doesn’t seem to mind. He’ll stare and make faces and reach and smile, and it’s a lot of fun. He can’t sit up on his own, so I’ll stand behind him and I’ll flail his arms not unlike the greatest rock ‘n’ roll drummer of all time, Keith Moon.

Enjoy.
