Our New Chair Rocks
The best part of my day comes at Henry’s bedtime. That’s our special time together, when I nurse him, cuddle him, sing to him, kiss his forehead, and finally put him gently in his crib. Most nights he sticks one (or both) of his pointer fingers in my nose, flails an arm around searching for something interesting to grab on to, futzes with my earrings, and then at last sighs sweetly as he snuggles up against me and falls asleep.
Last week we finally got a rocking chair for Henry’s room. This makes bedtime even more pleasant, because I no longer have to struggle with Henry in my arms to get up off the saggy family room sofa. Also – it rocks! And nothing soothes the savage baby faster than a little gentle rocking.

I remember those days too… back then we had a sturdy wooden chair rocker that you and Jay really loved to fall asleep rocking in.
