Time to Buy a Tether
Henry’s sleep last night was surprisingly good. He made noises a few times early in the evening, but only woke up once, at around 3. He looked and acted even better this morning, but fearing he’d transmit whatever stomach bug he had onto his nanny-share-mate, Vivienne, we decided to keep him home.
It was Kristen’s turn, so she and Henry had a fun day together, luckily sans vomiting.
They headed off to the beach this morning where our child, our wonderful, beautiful, happy child, tried to eat sand. Again. And again and again and again.
It’s getting much harder to stop Henry from doing such things, because as the weeks go by, he’s gotten so quick. Turn your head and he’s off crawling somewhere, intent on getting something unsavory in his mouth. He was slow to crawl, and when he finally started, he was tentative, never really going very far or very fast.
Not any more. He’s fast now. His long legs start pumping and he can go from one end of the room to the next in no time at all. I’d rather not corral him in a playpen (they look so constraining), but we have to do something.
And let’s not even think about him walking.
God help us.

I am also terrified of walking. Glad Henry is feeling better.
